How it began
Our journey began on a pilot scale under the vision of Mr. Masudul Haque, an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Dhaka. Conceived in the mid-seventies, the idea of re-refining used lubricants was born out of his extensive knowledge and training at a reputed re-refinery in West Bengal, India. On returning to Bangladesh he co-founded National Oils Ltd., the country's first used-lubricants refining organisation, which gained approval from Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation in the early eighties.
Driven by his passion for innovation, Mr. Haque established Min Oils Ltd. in 1985 at Rajfulbaria, Savar, Dhaka. The organisation was registered under the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation in February 1987, and obtained full permissions from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and BPC for re-refining used lubricants and other petroleum products in April 1988, and commenced its commercial operations.
In 1995 the plant was relocated to its current site at Jamur Muchipara, Hemayetpur, Savar, Dhaka, where it continues to operate with the support and patronage of BPC and the Government of Bangladesh.

The re-refinery
Recycles used lubricants into high-quality lube base oils through an environmentally friendly, waste-free process, and reclaims transformer oils for the power sector.
Min Oils Unit-II Limited
The blending plant
Manufactures lubricating oils for automotive and industrial applications under the Spark, Mexel and MOL-X brands. This is the entity that holds the ISO 9001:2015 certification.
