Transformer oil regeneration

A transformer's insulating oil degrades long before it is used up. Since 2000 we have restored that oil to service instead of replacing it — directly serving Bangladesh's power sector, at a substantial saving against buying new.

Serving the national grid

Restoring properties, not just cleaning oil

Insulating oil has a job beyond lubrication: it has to hold off voltage. Over time, moisture, oxidation products and dissolved contaminants pull its dielectric strength down, and a transformer running on degraded oil is a transformer running on borrowed time.

Regeneration removes the contaminants and the oxidation products, and brings the electrical properties an insulating oil needs back to specification. The oil returns to the transformer it came from. Nothing is bought, and nothing is thrown away.

This is the business the client singles out, and with reason: the power sector is our most notable customer, and the savings on transformer oil across a utility's estate are large.
